This is because your legs are the biggest muscle group in your body. Your quads and hamstrings are huge. The amount of calories that you burn when working your legs is by far more than you will burn on any other workout day. Trust me legs are important, and should not be missed. The amount of total body strength you gain by having strong legs is insane.
So what are the two most important exercises for your Lower Body?
Squats – Squats are the most important exercise you can do for the lower body. They work both you hamstring and quads, along with all kinds of other stabalizing muscles. These bad boys will burn more calories than any other single strength training exercise. So what does that mean, that means that they are a must in the leg routine. They will literally make your entire body stronger by building a ton of muscle and strength, and ladies dont worry you can do squats and your legs wont balloon out just make sure you aren’t doing too much weight. Trust me when I say these are a must in the strength training world.
Deadlifts – Deadlifts work your lower back (core), hamstrings, glutes, and forearms and will greatly increase your strength for many exercises. Be extremely careful with these though, start with a lower amount of weight and get the form down. The form on these is crucial, because of the nature of the movement, you caould seriously injur your lower back. With the right form though, these will be one of the best exercises you have enver done for your hamstrings and glutes. These are probably my favourite exercises to do! Another must to build great legs.
These are the workouts that will give you the most bang for your buck, and help you build a great set of legs. Really these will do the trick for both men and women. Check out how to properly intergrate these into your fitness programs. They are simply a must, for anyone that wants to get stronger and build muscle, or simply build a set of sexy legs that the guys will drool over!
