The body was made to be able to heal naturally wasn’t it? Then why is it that so many people are sick? Maybe it’s an inaccurate statement, and the body is not equipped to heal itself? No! The predicament is that men and women a) do not provide the body with the sufficient amount of tools, usually by way of diet, it requires to reset itself and b) we constantly bombard our body with junk that hinders the functionality of the limited number of essential resources that we do give it.
I’m a huge advocate of raw foods. To say that adding heat to foods above a certain temperature destroying required enzymes that are significant to digestion makes plenty of sense to me. Beyond that, it is advised that to get the most from our foods we should be chewing it it until it disappears. Our body has troubles digesting big morsels of food. Also, I strongly believe that we can thrive with a a diet of largely fruits and green vegetables, with of course some healthy fats. For the healthy fats, avocados, soaked nuts and seeds is all I consume.
My main meals each an every day are comprised of sufficient amounts of raw fruits and green vegetables in the form of green smoothies. Being that they are in a liquid state, my body does a great job of assimilating the nutrients.
A huge hurdle for most people when switching diets, and a huge one for me is dealing with unhealthy cravings. Just like someone addicted to drugs or alcohol must go through a detox so they can heal, we essentially must to do a similar thing. Our cells consist of stuff from the food that we have ingested in the past. The body usually craves more of the same unhealthy foods that contribute to the contents of each of the sick cells in our bodies. For drug detoxes, many times, dry sauna therapy is used to sweat the drugs out of the system. This usually helps to eliminate the physical cravings which could allow the individual an improved chance at sobriety. For us, improving our eating may activate the elimination of toxic foods as well which can be quickly removed in stool, through sweat and perhaps urine. But, we may still having cravings for those foods while some of the toxic elements in our cells are still present.
I, myself, have found that quickly after having the first drink of my green smoothie my own cravings for greasy foods, meat, sweets, salt, etc started to subside. After I was done drinking the smoothie, the cravings disappeared completely and I’d be fulfilled. The issue then was that the unhealthy cravings would return as I grew hungry. So I started to make sure I was on top of it and would have another green smoothie ready before the cravings would reoccur, or shortly after they began. The cravings eventually subsided for good as I became cleaner. Suddenly I began to crave greens instead!
Now, I would like to ask, do you wish to remain sick and overweight or would you like to start thinking about a better diet giving your body everything that it needs?
