The first use is of course to protect you from the sun. Then come the reasons that would not come into your head straight away.. Then of course there are the reasons that perhaps would not first pop into your head. They will need to be shatterproof so that if you do fall off they do not break inwards and cause you some serious damage. This will also protect you from any debris that may come up and hit you in your eyes.
Riding at dawn or dusk needs extra protection in the form of yellow lens to further protect the eyes designer sunglasses but if you are thinking of riding at dawn or dusk then yellow lens are recommended to protect your eyes further.
Although Ray bans are not perhaps essential for your cycling needs, the real question is what happens when you already wear prescription glasses? The solution comes in the form of being able to clip on your glasses, enabling you to still see past your feet whilst still being protected from the sun and any dangers.
So although Wayfarer sunglasses may not be on the top of your agenda when you get up on your bike, your personal safety needs to be. So get yourself some decent sunglasses just to make sure you have done everything you can to prevent any unfortunate accidents from occurring. Sunglasses dont seem like a serious safety precaution but they could save your eyes if was to hit the bike and fly up towards them.
