Weight Loss – How to Lose Weight the Right and Natural Way

I find it so amusing how we can complicate our lives sometimes over things that are really simple. Weight loss is no exception. Why is it that so many find it hard to lose weight when in fact there are no secrets about the subject. All the information we will ever need is easily accessible to anyone who wants it and needs it.

We all know that food have calories. Our average daily calorie intake may be different from person to person but the idea remains the same for everyone. For example, if my body uses an average of 2,000 calories a day I need to consume that same amount, 2,000 calories, to cover my calorie usage. If eat this same amount for a whole months I will neither gain or lose weight since I am using up all the calories I am consuming. Which is a good thing because it means that I am living a healthy life.

If eat 3,000 calories I am obviously consuming more than what my body needs. Therefore, my body will start to accumulate those unused calories and will start storing them as fat thus my clothes will start getting tighter and the numbers on my scale will start getting higher.

Now the idea is the same if I am wanting to lose weight. However, here is the fun part, I have two ways of going at it. First, I can increase the amount of calories my body burns on a daily basis through exercise. So, now instead of burning 2,000 calories I can burn 1,000 calories more thus burning a total of 3,000 calories! If I am to do this for a complete seven days I can burn up to two pounds a week! The numbers do not lie.:-)

The second route I can take is decreasing the amount of calories I consume. Instead of consuming 2,000 calories I can bring it down to 1,500 calories. And so forth.

There is also the option of doing both. Increasing the amount of calories my body burns through exercise and decreasing the amount of calories consumed.

It really is all a balancing act.

There is so much information out there concerning weight loss that it is hard to distinguish the stuff that works from the stuff that just wastes our time, and our money. The number one thing we should NEVER do is lose our common sense.
